The Biden-Harris administration delivers 24 pro-LGBTQ actions in first 50 Days

LGBTQ media advocates GLAAD launched the Biden Equality Accountability Tracker (BEAT) on March 11, the 50th day of the Biden-Harris administration.

GLAAD is monitoring the Biden administration's executive orders, legislative support, speeches and nominations that affect LGBTQ people and rights.

They determined that 24 actions were taken from the White House that “affect LGBTQ people and rights.”

The new administration took action on Day 1 as President Biden signed an executive order directing federal agencies to implement the Supreme Court’s 2020 decision interpreting the federal ban on sex discrimination to include sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes. Additional inclusive measures have seemingly followed every few days since.

Keep tabs on current and future executive orders, legislative support, speeches and nominations that affect LGBTQ people and rights from the GLAAD accountability tracker here, and find out more in this article from LGBTQ Nation here.
