As the young people in our lives head back to school, it’s time to celebrate the anniversary of the It Gets Better Project, a global non-profit founded in 2010 to support LGBTQ+ youth around the world. It reaches millions of young people each year through inspiring media programming, educational resources, international affiliates in 19 countries, and access to an arsenal of community-based service providers.
Going back to school can be a tough time for LGBTQ+ students, increasingly so as new legislation is making life harder than ever in some locations. The It Gets Better website provides resources for students, parent and educators to help navigate some of the issues students face at this time.
