From Healthcare to Communications and the Arts to Journalism, the LEAGUE Foundation is helping make college a reality for 10 students beginning their studies this fall.
The LEAGUE Foundation awarded a total of 10 new college scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year. Since 1996, LEAGUE Foundation has awarded 243 college scholarships totaling $540,000 to self-identifying lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBTQ+) and supporters, graduating US High School Students. LEAGUE Foundation scholars are selected through a multi-round process where applicants academic, community involvement, and educational goals determine LEAGUE Scholars.
LEAGUE Foundation Memorial Scholarships awardees in the amount of $3,000 each are:
• Matthew Shepard Memorial Scholarship awarded to Brandon Groth (He/Him/His), attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
• Laurel Hester Memorial Scholarship awarded to Violet Krol (They/Them/Theirs), attending University of Wisconsin - Madison
• Frank Duracher Memorial Scholarship awarded to Kaeleigh A. Avers (She/Her/Hers), attending Western Oregon University
• Tyler Clementi Memorial Scholarship awarded to Talia Ector (She/Her/Hers), attending Spelman College
Additional LEAGUE Foundation Scholarships awardees in the amount of $2,000 each are:
• Finn Moran (He/Him/His), attending University of California - Berkeley
• Kate Pursley (She/Her/Hers), attending University of Texas in Austin
• Veronica Rojas (She/Her/Hers), attending University of San Francisco
• Gianella "Gigi" Tijamo (She/Her/Hers), attending University of California - Merced
• Carli Waddell (They/Them/Theirs), attending Saint Olaf College
• Katie Wright (She/Her/Hers), attending University of California - San Diego
