Transgender Awareness Week is observed annually in mid-November to raise visibility and support for transgender people, as well as to highlight the issues and challenges the community faces. Throughout the week, individuals and organizations participate in educational events, storytelling, and advocacy efforts to foster understanding and acceptance. Transgender Awareness Week culminates with Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) on November 20th, honoring those lost to anti-transgender violence and underscoring the urgent need for continued advocacy.
GLAAD offers a variety of resources to help allies, advocates, and media accurately represent and support transgender people during this important week. The organization encourages everyone to get involved by sharing stories, hosting events, and amplifying transgender voices.
