HIV is not a crime, but in more than 30 states, people are being criminalized due to their HIV status.

Since 2022 the AIDS is Not a Crime Awareness Day, with The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation have worked to help end HIV criminalization in the U.S. including with their “Stuck in the 80s” campaign, placing wild postings and billboards at high-traffic locations in states with outdated HIV laws, with the goal of raising awareness and driving change across the country.
